In addition, Lory has handled security details for politicians: French President Francois Hollande and former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, in cooperation with the US Secret Service. In September 2009, Dave started DJL Live Music Productions LLC; a company that produces live shows and events. Since the rebirth of NMS in 2009, it has grown to be an annual event in NYC, and has spawned Music Week with the City of New York and the NMS New York Music Festival. Coinciding with the re-launch of NMS, Dave was tour-manager of Perez Hiltons North American tour. For a period of 10 years, during the 1980s into the early 1990s, Lory tour managed arena tours for a host of heavy metal bands. In 2010, Lory produced Escape to New York based on the Secret Garden Party UK, the largest independent music festival in the world, with its curator and owner Fred Fellowes. This three day Hamptons-based festival included attendees from all over the world. The festival took place in multiple locations that included art projects, glamour camping, dance and music stages and other interactive activities all taking place on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation and other locations in and around Southampton, New York. This was the first time Suffolk County allowed a festival since 2003. Dave has also produced the Songwriters Hall of Fame Dinner, Heroes Dinner for NARAS (The Grammys) as well as the opening event for the Grammys return to New York City, among others. Dave helped to launch Artemis Records, with music veteran Danny Goldberg, when Polygram was bought by Universal. In its first two years, Artemis was named Billboards Independent Label of the Year, spawning numerous Grammy nominations for their artists, and the largest selling record at that time: Baha Mens Who Let the Dogs Out. Lory teaches at William Patterson and New York University. He was also a founding member for the Managers Forum in the US a watchdog group protecting artists and their rights, within the industry and with governmental agencies.
