Want to keep the holiday weekend going?

We can’t officially declare the whole week a holiday, however we can help your week fly by with three awesome new artists this Tuesday!

All today’s ‘On The Radar’ artists we’re submitted by our friends at Music Times, including: synth-loaded jams from Jimkata to keep you grooving all night, NYC’s Neil Davis shows off his impeccable piano and songwriting skills, and Swedish-native turned NYC-resident Sa’Ra Charismata explores dark, electro-pop beats in combination with her unique yet oddly captivating vocals in her recent release ‘Gold Digga’ (which I must warn is highly addictive from personal experience).

Jimkata

Caitlin Carter, Music Times Sections Editor

Jimkata blends electric guitars, bass and drums with synth and electronic beats for a sound rooted in rock and experimental in spirit. It feels more indie rock than jam and more electro-pop than EDM, but it ties all elements together for a very accessible-yet-intricate sound. The band dropped a four-track EP back in March, called Feel in Light, and are currently on tour in support of the effort.

Neil Davis

Danica Daniel, Music Times Managing Editor

Davis released his debut album, In My Mind, back in 2011. His sound perfectly combines piano-driven pop melodies with raspy rock vocals. His catchy-yet-soulful songs tell personal stories of life, love, heartbreak, and hope.

Sa’Ra Charismata

Ryan Book, Music Times Sections Editor

This Swedish-born singer rooted her music career in New York City but is now headed back to her home to work on a new album, which she will release on her own label. She has a trippy, downbeat electro-pop sound tinged with unique vocal stylings — sort of a cross between MØ and Soso.
