NEW MUSIC SEMINAR ANNOUNCES ITS ARTIST ON THE VERGE CLASS OF 2015
100 ARTISTS. READY TO BREAK THE SPEED LIMIT.

NEW YORK, Feb. 23, 2015 – New Music Seminar (NMS) has announced its anticipated list of the Top 100 artists about to break through today’s market: The Artist on the Verge (AOV) Class of 2015. To qualify for the list, artists must demonstrate positive career momentum and cannot be signed to a major independent or major label. These artists will be given the opportunity to perform as a part of NMS New Music Nights Festival June 21-23rd in New York City.

Hand-selecting these artists is the NMS A&R committee comprised of NMS partners, A&R scouts, talent buyers, booking agents, media tastemakers, and other industry experts. NMS curates a powerful pool of talent to present the industry and fans alike with the latest artists about to break through. The AOV Project has featured artists before they broke such as Macklemore, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, BANKS, MisterWives, Action Bronson, Schoolboy Q, and Joey Bada$$.

Peter Schwinge, General Manager for New Music Seminar said, “I am extremely proud of what our team puts together each year. The mission of New Music Seminar is to provide a platform to help artists break through the noise to achieve the notoriety and success they deserve – and this list should be on the radar of everyone in the industry.”

All AOV performers are invited to showcase their talent during the New Music Nights Festival, and a Top 3 will be chosen to perform a special event where they will be exposed to leading and influential industry reps. One winner will be announced during the closing remarks of the Seminar on Tuesday June 23rd and will walk away with thousands of dollars in studio time, consultations, promotions, marketing, music equipment, and more.
Registration prices start at $299, which gives access to the conference, opening night red carpet event and New Music Nights showcases. Special group packages and sponsorship opportunities are also available.

“Winning Artist on the Verge 2014 has been really significant for us. What we learned from New Music Seminar, combined with the doors that have been opened from winning AOV, is leading to a very organic elevation of our brand. We have the tools and connections now to position ourselves on a national and international stage. We are very grateful to everyone at NMS for all the opportunities we have been given.”
– VanLadyLove (Winner of the 2014 Artist on the Verge)
