Big Data is a paranoid electronic music project from the Internet, formed out of a general distrust for technology and The Cloud (despite a growing dependence on them). Helmed by producer, Alan Wilkis, Big Data aims to explore the relationship between man and machine, and how the internet has reshaped the human experience. Clearly the internet has taken a liking to Big Data considering his single “Dangerous” is RIAA Certified Gold with over 500,000 singles sold. Performing live, Big Data has sold out shows in major U.S. cities on both coasts, as well as performed on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Big Data’s debut album, 2.0 features collaborators such as Rivers Cuomo, Jaime Lidell, Twin Shadow, Kimbra, and Dragonette.

Chief Scout is Trey Rosenkampff. The Suwanee, GA native has been playing music all of his life. Now, having forgone college, Trey has adopted the Chief Scout moniker and is embarking on the next step in his musical journey. Working alone and with songwriters like James Petralli, of White Denim, Trey has crafted songs that are fast and aggressive, wrapped in a comfortable psychedelic texture, all the while underscored with the twang and jangle of a songwriter born in the South. Recorded over the past 2 years in his adopted home of Athens, GA, and in Austin, TX, See is a perfect mixture of everything Trey is capable of. Having spent time exploring many different styles and genres, this combination of punchy punk and experimental psych songs captures all of his influences and passions. Showcasing his ability to be both accessible and far reaching, See gives the world the best possible introduction into the world of Chief Scout.

Heyrocco

Charleston, SC’s Heyrocco crafts angst-fueled, ’90s-inspired songs that will transport listeners back to a time of underage drinking, house parties, and first loves. Made up of childhood friends Nathan Merli, Christopher Cool, and Tanner Cooper, who first started jamming in their parents’ garages in 2010 and quit school soon after to pursue their dreams of rock stardom. Having just entered their twenties, they’ve already been out on multiple tours across the US & UK, sharing stages with acts like Grouplove, Those Darlins, and The Weeks and earning praise for their in-your-face live show and compelling on-stage persona. Influenced by an era when alternative, guitar-driven jams ruled the airwaves, their debut LP, Teenage Movie Soundtrack, is due out on June 2nd via Old Flame Records. You can now stream the full album via Culture Collide, and tracks “Elsewhere” & “Loser Denial” are available to post & share.

Phoebe Ryan, songwriter turned indie pop artist, has been fueling the flames for an already brilliant 2015. While she introduced herself to the world as a solo artist with her mashup of R. Kelly’s “Ignition” and Miguel’s “Do You,” you can hear her featured on “Now Or Never” by Tritonal, as well as writing for Oh Honey, Bea Miller, and Skizzy Mars, proving she really is a cross genre talent. She has since released her first self-written single “Mine,” while opening for Tove Lo in NYC, and just finished a West Coast tour with The Knocks. Armed with an arsenal of new songs and upcoming appearances at this summer’s festivals including Bonnaroo, Phoebe Ryan is ready to continue to pump new life into the pop genre.
